All aboard the Yorkshire Day Elsecar steam train for an afternoon of Yorkshire heritage treats!

To celebrate Yorkshire Day 1st August 2018, at 12pm and 1.30pm, Lottie – Yorkshire’s Award Winning Heritage Baker will take a step back in time and ride upon the footplate of the Elsecar Steam Train, to host a very special afternoon tea for passengers with her seriously good baked treats.

Lottie of Lottie Shaw’s Bakery is renowned throughout Yorkshire and beyond for her authentic taste of Yorkshire tray bakes and her 100 year old family recipe of Yorkshire Parkin. Lottie is very excited to be invited, “with many of our family recipes created in the 1920’s by my Great Aunt, this is a unique and wonderful opportunity to celebrate all the great things about Yorkshire, and to enjoy our baked treats in a historical setting!”

Appealing to steam, train or indeed afternoon tea enthusiasts, tickets are available to experience the Elsecar working steam train in action. In the ‘Dining Class’ carriage passengers can enjoy a relaxing afternoon tea with fizz. Or in the ‘Lively Class’ carriages there will great fun for families with kids activities, Lottie’s unique gingerbread train biscuit to decorate and a special character to meet!

There is a Lottie Shaw’s hamper to win and Tesco at Hoyland are joining the fun providing refreshments, and even coming to help serve along with Barnsley Council’s employment and Volunteering Service.
